Social Work Forum

11.00 to 4.00pm

The theme of the social work forum is ‘Managing risk with clients who are Deaf and have mental health issues’. The objective is to provide an opportunity to discuss different risk management practices and tools used by social workers in the field.

This forum will run from 11.00 to 4.00pm on the 16th of September at  Joseph’s Centre for the Deaf, 321 Grosvenor Road Belfast, BT12 6BA.  The morning session will look at

A brief overview of Mental Health services
Risk Management – what is involved

The afternoon session will involve group discussion around what are the elements of good risk management and the risk assessment tools for social workers.

The forum is open to social workers who are interested in or are working in the area of mental health and deafness.

Those who are interested in attending please bring with you the risk assessment tools you use in your country (if possible translated into English).
