16th September 2014
11:00 - 16:00
Our objective is to link nurse practitioners in mental health and deafness (who often work in isolation) to this forum to promote learning and development, generate ideas for research and provide peer supervision.
The presenters are nurses from the forum presenting their own perspectives and ideas on delivering a mental health and deafness service in a variety of settings; their successes and challenges, and aspirations for development.
We are holding 'The Mental Health and Deafness National Nurse Specialist Forum' on the 16th September 2014 in the Conference Room, Bradbury Centre, 1-17 Lisburn Road, Belfast, BT9 7AA between 11am and 4pm.
This is an open meeting for those in the field of nursing attending the conference who are interested in or are working in the area of mental health and deafness.
The meeting will review aspects of current nursing issues in this area across the UK, Ireland and internationally, and, review how this profession can enhance access to a mental health service for Deaf people. We anticipate the ideas generated from this meeting will inform future practices and influence the ongoing development of nurses to promote equity and opportunity for the Deaf person who may need a mental health service.
