Welcome

This is to announce that the 6th World Congress on Mental Health and Deafness will be held in Belfast 16th – 19th September 2014. It is being organised by the European Society for Mental Health and Deafness and co-hosted by Queen´s University Belfast. The congress features a specific theme, which is the relationship between human rights and mental health of deaf people.

We invite delegates from all countries who have an interest in the subject and the theme. We believe that the stronger the representation, the more likely it will be that the conference will be able to influence policy-makers and help to improve lives. Application details will be available at this website shortly.

All delegates are invited to submit proposed presentations. The time allocated to a submitted talk is 25min, which would usually include 5min for questions. We will provide interpreters for Irish Sign Language and International Sign Language, as well as Speech to Text Report. The official spoken and written language of the Congress will be English.

Delegates who are interested in presenting should submit a title and an abstract of not more than 300 words through the Registration Form. They will be reviewed by the scientific committee, and the papers most highly rated by the committee will be chosen for presentation at the conference.

Title and abstract for POSTER PRESENTATION ONLY should be submitted by JULY 15th using the Registration Form. Proposals will not be considered unless at least one presenter has registered for the conference by the review date. Notice of acceptance will be one month after the closing date.
